MAJOR: Social Icons Widget is now WPZOOM Connect 5.0: a new dashboard under “Social Icons”, icons drawn as SVG instead of icon fonts, 2,400+ icons with an icon library to browse, icons without links and an “Icon by WPZOOM” block, a Social Profiles block, and the Google Preferred Sources button. Sites that update get a short “What’s new” tour on the Overview
NEW: Social Profiles block — your profiles as a list with each network’s icon, a handle taken from the link (@yourname, r/WordPress) or the short link, and optional follower counts you type in (labelled followers, subscribers or members per network). Start by picking from 10 popular networks; style the rows, border, corners and icons in the Styles tab. Drawn on the server, so it can’t show “unexpected or invalid content”. IMPROVED: Social Icons block — Detect Icon now looks in Socicons first and falls back to the other enabled icon kits (it used to take the last kit with a match, often Font Awesome)
NEW: the icon’s URL field shows the matching icon as you type
NEW: visual style picker for the Social Icons block — each style shows your own icons, so you see the result before choosing. Style names are shorter and easier to tell apart
